It is perfectly fine to bathe, shower, swim, exercise, and have sex in traditional African waistt beads strung on cotton string. Once tied on securely they become an intimate extension of you, and you do everything in them. Just remember not to yank on them when removing clothing or pulling down bottoms. Some charms should not be worn in the water repeatedly.

    If you want to track your weight loss you would start your beads up at the smallest part of your waist (above navel), with the goal of them dropping down to your hips. Do not wear them tightly in order to gauge your progress. If worn too tight they will pop from constant pressure.

Our Tie On Waist Beads are very long, measuring from 50 inches in length and are easily adjustable for Ladies of all waist sizes. Including plus size Ladies.

Adjust by taking away beads to fit your needs. You can then tie the string around the last beads or leave them as they are.

They are made using cotton threads and African recycled Beads.

1. Take the waist bead string and measure it around your desired waist area (for weight loss, measure above the belly button.

2. Once measured, move excess beads to the end making sure they are not in the way. (leave enough room for bloating, bending, and sitting)

3. Ensure there are no gaps in between the beads and then tie 3 to 4 knots.

4. Cut off any excess string and beads. (enjoy gauging your waistline in fashion)

At Shifa Cleanse, we only carry Ghanaian, traditional tie-on waist beads. Once the waist beads are tied on, they can not come off (unless you decide to cut them off or if you get them caught into something sharp). The thread does not stretch or expand.  Traditional waist beads are permanent when tied on;  they last for a long time. I've been wearing mine for about 10 years now.  I just keep adding more.  You can wear them while showering, bathing, swimming, you name it!  You just have to make sure you tie them properly so they won't come off.
